There were some plants in North Carolina that I couldn’t bear to leave behind. All had sentimental value, as well as their own beauty.
This rose was gift from my son and his wife. Two days after I took this picture the deer ate all the blossoms. Now there is a bar of Irish Spring right underneath it.
Another transplant was sent to me by a friend who has since passed on. It’s a lovely memory.
His wife gave me this big, beautiful lavender. Thankfully the deer leave herbs alone, at least so far.
The trilliums started as one and multiplied so many times over the years they were shared with many friends. Now they are here. Don’t know what happened to the one that was broken off. Again, a gift from a special friend who is not with us anymore.
Some friends on the mountain in NC shared these ramps with me. I planted some for my son who likes to eat them cooked in eggs, or meatloaf. So now these are planted at his house. Maybe in a few years we can start pulling them again.
Now these memories are here in Virginia. The transplants seem to like it here as much as I do.
