First I grew purple asparagus which was more nutritious than green.  It was striking to see it growing.  Sad that when it’s cooked it turns green.

‘When Burpee had purple sugar snaps I added another purple plant to my garden.  Also kept the green sugar snaps I usually grow.  Beside them are  the other additional new plants this year—Bok Choi.

he purple blossoms are so lovely, as well as the little peas that are emerging from them.

Sometimes it seems the growing itself is enough reason to have a garden and the produce is the bonus. Here are the peas that managed to get back to the kitchen. Two seeds of snow peas got mixed in with the green sugar snaps, a little added variety.
